Joglo

Joglo often found in Central Java and Yogyakarta architecture. Joglo house is the main building frame of traditional Javanese house, which consists of a pillar of the four main pillars supporting the structure and composition of intercropping form a cornerstone of the supported beam.
In general, joglo only owned by people more capable material, because Joglo require a lot of materials and expensive.
 The room in the house Joglo generally divided into three parts :
  • The first part is called pendhopo, meeting room.  
  • The second part is the living room or space that is used to hold a puppet show, called pringgitan.  
  •  The third part is called the back room or omah ndalem jero, and is used as a family room. In this space there are three senthong (room), namely senthong left, senthong middle, and right senthong.
Generally, intercropping found on the pavilion building be nested. These degrees can also be interpreted as a level to get to the peak point. According to Javanese belief, these levels will converge at one point.
Ndalem is central to joglo. Its main function as a family room. On the spatial pattern, there is a difference ndalem floor height, so divide the space into two areas. On the higher floors are used as a place out of the air, while the lower part is used as a family room and senthong.
