Serimpi Dance

this is classic dance from Surakarta. only woman can be dancer because this is smooth and soft dance. Serimpi dance already known by many tourist and they also try this dance. graceful movement symbolize woman in Central Java who kown polite and nice people.

serimpi dance already availabe when Mataram kingdom led by Sultan Agung Hanyokrokusuma. at that time, serimpi dance had purpose to certain events. "serimpi" came from word "mimpi"(dream) that mean is spectator get in the dream because their slow motion.  before proclamation of idependence, ordinary people can't watch serumpi dance because only people in Mataram kingdom can enjoy this dance.
